Is Steeleye Span's "Sir James the Rose" a murder ballad or a judicial murder ballad?

Good question! You know, I don't think it ever describes how the "gallant squire" was killed - whether it was premeditated, or Sir James and the squire were just sparring all friendly-like and there was an accident. Or Sir James was hunting and mistook the squire for a bird or a boar or something. Which would definitely affect the plain murder part.
