I've been meaning to ask for a while

I have it stuck in my head at least once a week, if not more. I hate the theme and the story. For a person with the kind of lyrics obsession I have, this is an issue.

So, since I can't stop thinking about it, I must ask: Does anyone else think this is Cheri-Ose?

What other nominations for that category can you think of?

I just posted this to John Scalzi's blog, and decided I'd share it here too, if I haven't already. It's an old though, so I could have posted it anytime in the past N years.

Personally, I've been working on composing "X killed the Folk Song star". The problem is deciding if X is Birth Control, No-Fault Divorce, or Alcoholics Anonymous. But I'm sure one of them is to blame. Think of how many folk songs are based on the lack of access to one of the above.
