Shopping so far
Nov. 28th, 2008 01:35 pmFrom www.shoponkyo.com: HT-S5100 Home Theater System. $299. I chose the 7.1 because it had HDMI passthrough, so it should be a lot more future proof. If you can accept Silver, they have the next model down for $189 refurbished (HT-S4100) and that's amazingly tempting. I agonized over it all day.
Now at some point we need to get a TV that suits it.
From Amazon.com: Panasonic DMC-LS80S 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver)
as well as a 4GB and 8GB SDHC memory cards and a card reader. One of the vendors threw in a 1GB microSD card that will go in our cell phones for the cost of shipping.
Still looking for: a cheap laser printer that will either hang off my Airport Express or plug in to ethernet. It's really tempting to go for duplexing and wireless too, but those seem to raise the cost substantially. May go out to Fry's and see what they have left.
Also need the Apple minijack to TOSLink converter to plug the Airport Express into the new home theater.
